The restaurant is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. The interior is visually appealing and the menu is extensive. The staff is very helpful in explaining the different menu items to us. Ordered the Cut Mirchi appetizer, which came with a nice batter and dipping sauce with slight heat. The dosa was huge and came with a variety of sauces. It was cooked with a nice crisp, and my favorite sauces were the darker ones. The Chicken Sambar Rice is really good; it is pretty spicy. I loved the flavor, but couldn’t eat too much of it due to my spice tolerance. I would come back to try other dishes.

I absolutely love dining at 1947 Norwood. As someone who visits often, I’m consistently amazed by the bold flavors and perfect spice levels in their dishes. The biryani is a must-try—it’s packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. This week, I tried the Lamb Chettinad, and it was incredible! The rich, aromatic spices paired perfectly with a cold beer and their soft, buttery garlic naan. Every bite was a delight. The ambiance is cozy, and the service is always friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine in 1947 Norwood is the place to go!
